| Inter Army School Badminton Tournament commences | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 14: APS Akhnoor organized Northern Command Inter Army School Badminton tournament under the agies of HQ Northern Command. Total 12 teams, 6 boys and 6 girls from APS Leh, APS Udhampur, APS Dhar Road, APS Nagrota, APS Akhnoor and APS Rakhmuthi participated. Tournament was inaugurated by Col Rohit Menon along with Maj K Tiwar.
Chief guest wished all the teams and advised them for maintaining the sportsman spirit. Brig Vikas Chaudhary Chairman APS Akhnoor has sent his best wishes to all teams. On first day, boys of APS Akhnoor defeated APS Rakhmuthi in first semi final while APS Udhampur defeated APS Nagrota in second semi final. In girls, APS Akhnoor defeated APS Nagrota and APS Udhampur defeated APS Dhar road. Second day final for boys and girls were played between APS Akhnoor and APS Udhampur.
In boys category APS Udhampur are winners and APS Akhnoor are runner-up and in girls category APS Udhampur are winners and APS Akhnoor are runner-up.
Trophies were presented by Maj K Tiwari, T P Singh Veteran Badminton player chief guest of the occasion along with certificates of merit. Officials of the tournament were also appreciated and honored with mementos. |
