Early Times Report

Kathua, May 16: Former Minister and president DCC kathua Dr Manohar lal Sharma today lambasted both the present & previous BJP government in the state for exploiting the daily wagers in various department for not fulfilling their long time pending genuine demands. While referring to the ongoing protest and dharma by PHE & CP daily wagers at kathua since past long time Dr Sharma said due to callous and non-serious attitude of governments families of daily wagers across the state are facing a starvation-like situation.
Further he said PHE daily wagers have raised two genuine demands i.e. Payment of the pending salaries and regularization of jobs but government has turned deaf to their demands and said before 2014 elections BJP promised to regularize daily wagers in their poll promises but once they formed government they betrayed and backstabbed daily wagers of the state . He further questioned BJP leadership that are these the "Achhe Din promised by them" and accused the previous BJP government of continuing to keep the fate of the "workers in lurch." He further said that a "In 2018 alone, six workers committed suicide as it was getting difficult for them to survive and said that the workers have been working with devotion and dedication, but it seems as if their lives don't matter to the government.
Dr Sharma said even after completing more than 10 years of services more than 62000 daily wagers in various departments such as PDD, PHE, FOREST, FISHERIS, etc. are waiting for regularization since long time. Also they are not getting their wages released regularly thus leading them and their families to lead a miserable life. Further he said thousands of teachers under REHBER-E-TALEEM who have completed 5 years of job are still waiting for regularization. He further asserted that SRO 202 & SRO 520 of the state government is sheer mockery and betrayal with the youth of the state as both are against the honorable Supreme courts direction and labour laws that says "Equal wages for equal work "and requested the present government to quash the same for the betterment of the youth and employed section and daly wagers.
DR Sharma requested the Hon'ble Governor Sh Satya pal Malik and his administration to look into the matter on urgent basis and fulfill the genuine demands of the agitating daily wagers across the state.
