Scatted garbage, blocked clogged drains remain unattended in Shanker Colony | Installed garbage bins lifted by JMC | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 22: Scatted garbage, clogged drains is the common view of the Shanker Colony near Police Station Gangyal of Ward No 55 under Jammu Municipal Corporation where sanitation has become the core issue for the local residents but the concerned authority seems to be in deep slumber. The local residents informed Early Times that Jammu Municipal Corporation had installed garbage bins in the area but the bins were lufted without reason forcing people to throw garbage in t open. "The continuous dumping of garbage in drains, and in open place have made life difficult. The drains have started overflowing on the road and sometimes the drain water gushes in the houses," they said adding that the increasing insanitation has created serious health hazards as the blocked drains and garbage dumps have become breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies. They alleged that many complaints and representations were moved to the concerned authority but not action was taken. "The concerned Cooperator is hardly seen in the area to take stock of the problems of the residents which is very unfortunate," they alleged. |
