Poonch, May 24: Although government has launched many campaigns against the drug diction but very little has been achieved by such exercises and the number of drug addicts continues to increase.
Sources said that some top police officials were encouraging and backing the drug peddlers which has spoiled many a youth. Poonch, it is believed was free from drugs but of late the deadly drugs have made inroads into the border district mainly due to patronage of drug smugglers by top police officials.
Expressing serious concern over the growing menace, the people have urged the Governor to take strict action against the corrupt police officials for promoting drugs in the district. |
