| Short circuit causes damages worth lakhs in residential houses | | |
DODA, June 24: An electric short circuit caused damages worth lakhs of rupees in the residential houses besides critically injuring a woman in Trown village of district Doda last night.
As per reports available with Early Times, the short circuit occurred due to the falling of High Voltage electric line wires on Low Voltage line. Locals of the area said that wires hanging on trees cause serious threat among the peoples of Trown village. In this incident, property worth lakhs of rupees damaged including Refrigerators, Washing Machines, House wires, Bulbs, Electric junctions, Fans, wooden roofs and other residential material.
Atleast 30 residential houses were affected by the incident, they said. Villagers alleged that they requested the Power Development Department (PDD) authorities to repair the wires hanging on trees several times but no one is ready to listen to the poor public.
They said that PDD completely failed to set up proper electricity system in the villages of Doda district. Residents of the area demanded compensation for the woman who was injured in the incident and appealed to Deputy Commissioner Doda to look into this matter and save the precious lives in future. |
