Early Times Report NOWSHERA, July 7: Tearful tributes were paid to the Kargil Martyr Gurdeep Singh of 8 SIKH Regiment who laid his life for the country on this day in 1999. Besides family members, team of army officers headed by the Unit, large number of villagers paid homage to the martyr at his memorial palace. On this occasion three days long religious Samagam was held by commencing an Akhand Path on 05th July 2019 in which concluded on Sunday. The speakers in their lecture said that three martyrs of this area have laid their lives in the Kargil War which include Gurdeep Singh of village Kanara was martyred on 06th July 1999, Hardeep Singh of Rajpur Bhata was martyred on 07th July 1999 and Joginder Singh of Quila Darhal was martyred on 25th July 1999. Prominent among those present in the smagam include Capt. Gurdev Singh, Harjeet Singh, Capt. Swaran Singh, Gurdev Singh, Dara Singh. After Gurbani Kirtan and Ardas, Guru Ka langar was also distributed to hundered of sangets. |
