JAMMU, July 19: Member of Muslim community on Friday organized a Langar for pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra spreading the message of communal harmony and brotherhood across the country. Under the banner of Waffa Foundation, members of Muslim brethren in Jammu served Kheer (rice pudding) to pilgrims headed for Amarnath Shrine in Kashmir at Kunjwani Chowk, Jammu. Parvez Ali Waffa, Founder Waffa Foundation said that J&K State, particularly Jammu region, by and large remained peaceful in the past. But now, certain vested interests are trying to divide people on the basis of religion. “It is a token of love from Muslim brethren. We have braved all odds together in the State and will continue to do so in the future. We always stand for the welfare of people of State irrespective of caste, colour and creed. Our aim was to further strengthen the secularism, communal harmony and brotherhood in the State by organising such event,” Waffa said. “In future, we will continue to organise such events as there is need of spreading brotherhood. We have passed through turbulent times and only helping each other will help us in coming out of the problems we face,” Waffa said. “Jammu and Kashmir reflects the true plural ethos of the secular India where people of different communities strive for the love and harmony, complementing the lives of each other on a day-to-day basis,” Waffa said. Waffa cautioned against the forces, which are hell bent upon to create further chaos among the people in all the three regions, emphasizing them to remain vigilant and expose their nefarious designs before the people.
