Early Times Report
Jammu, July 19: Mahant Bhagwan Dass President Mata Van Khandi Public Charitable Trust today said that Mata Sitaji Temple, Hanuman ji Temple and Dharamraj ji Temple and its other allied structures got heavily damaged due to flash floods in the year 2013-14. It was informed that they had already apprised Prime Minister and other senior authorities that the damages occurred during floods to the Mosques, Temples, Gurudwaras and Churches under Charitable Trusts are covered as per the National Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of India. "The mosques which were damaged in flash floods in Srinagar Province have been repaired/ restored in all respects but no attention has been paid to the 3 temples washed/ damaged at Mata Van Khandi Public Charitable Trust, Mahanpur, Kathua inspite of all out efforts by the Trust as on date", they said. The callous attitude of the PMO Office, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua and National Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of India speaks about the non-serious attitude of the administration for restoration of damaged Temples due to which the devotees of the District Kathua and Billawar & Basholi in particular are dejected & deprived of the basic right of religious freedom, they said. It is humbly submitted that the authorities under the helm of affairs should take a call to restore the damaged temples and allied infrastructure at an earliest which stands verified by the concerned revenue authorities. |
