Social Welfare Department organizes assessment camp under RVY

kathua, Aug 19: Social Welfare Department in collaboration with Health Department and ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation) organised an assessment camp for specially abled persons and senior citizens under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojna (RVY) at District Hospital Kathua.
Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Raghav Langer, was the chief guest on this occasion.
During the camp, about 200 beneficiaries were examined by different Doctors and referred to team of ALMICO for assessment in respect to different type of impairments for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities and were further examined by team consisting of P&O Officers, Audiologist and Online data entry operators.
DC said that the objective of this scheme is to provide senior citizens and suffering from age related disabilities/ infirmities with such physical aids and assisted living devices which can restore normalcy in their bodily functions.
District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ashok Chaudhary, Principal GMC, Dr. Shashi Sudan and Superintendent District Hospital Kathua, Dr. S K Verma was also present on this occasion.
