Jammu, Aug 19: Former Member of Parliament Madan Lal Sharma has condemned the undeclared emergency which has been imposed by BJP govt. in Jammu & Kashmir.
The BJP govt. is acting in an autocratic manner and eroding the democratic setup in Jammu & Kashmir. The manner in which police entered the Congress office and stopped the Congress spokesperson from holding a peaceful press conference, it shows that the BJP is hell bent to destroy the fundamental right of freedom of Expression and speech of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, he said.
The Congress Party is a National Party & voice of a large section of the society but BJP is trying to suppress the voice of people by stopping the senior congress leaders from meeting people and detaining them in their homes.
Meanwhile the people living on border are suffering due to continuous cross border firing and shelling by Pakistan and the government has failed to take a serious call to end the sufferings of the border people. These people living in border villages are as brave as our soldiers who are even laying down their lives for protecting our people and mother land.
He also lambasted the statement of Mohan Bhagwat who gave a statement regarding reservation issue and Madan said that the provisions of constitution that were given by Baba Saheb Ambedkar need to be protected and preserved. The reservation of ALC/IB & RBA people should also remain intact and no change in their reservation status should be done. These people act as the eyes and ears for our forces and alert them in case of any movement across the border.
