Jammu, Aug 23: The Red Ribbon Club of Govt. College for Women Udhampur celebrated international youth day 2019, in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Control Society. On this occasion, a poster making competition on the theme- "Transforming Education" with sub themes as: "Role of education in poverty eradication, good health, gender equality, building peaceful societies" was held in the college. Prof. Brinder Singh Chib Officiating Principal of the college was the chief guest while Prof. Ashni Devi, Dr. YashPaul Singh and Prof. Sumita Rao were the members of the Jury. Earlier Dr. Kewal Kumar, Nodal Officer, RRC presented welcome address and threw light on importance of celebrating youth day. Twenty nine students of the college participated in the Poster making competition. On the basis of judgement of jury members, Miss Neha Rani (Sem-III), Miss Devanshi Verma (Sem-V) and Miss Sapna Sharma (Sem-V) were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd in competition respectively. While Shivali Devi (Sem-V), Meenakshi Sharma (Sem-V ) Aayushi Dogra (Sem-III) got consolation prizes. Devanshi Verma, student of B.Sc Sem- V conducted the proceedings of the programme while vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Vishal Magotra. Prof Brinder Kumar, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Ajay Sharma, Prof. Shallu Jasrotia, Prof. Imran, Prof. Sheveta, Prof. Parmjeet Singh and Dr. Sumit also graced the occasion by their presence. |
