JAMMU, Aug 30: Delhi Public School, Jammu held its 21st Investiture Ceremony "Sankalp Se Natritv Ki Aur" 2019-20 with great zeal and pomp today. Sushma Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while SS Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu was the guest of honour. The event was attended by around 4500 students and 300 teachers from the middle and senior wings of the school. All the dignitaries, escorted by NCC Cadets and Girls Pipe Band, were accorded a formal welcome. The programme commenced with the Rajasthani Folk Song 'Padharo Mhare Des' followed by the Decoration Ceremony of 100 students holding different offices of the School Council and Prefects, who presented an exemplary March Past to the tune of the school Band. They took pledge to uphold the school motto "Service Before Self" in high esteem and to perform their duties to the best of their abilities.
The chief guest, Sushma Chauhan, DC Jammu congratulated the school cabinet in her address and emphasized on the importance of pursuing what one is capable of and exhorted the students to carry out their duties with sincerity, dedication and commitment.
The Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra advised the members of the students Council to act honestly, diligently and responsibly. She also administered the oath to the newly appointed Cabinet. |
