DPS Jammu celebrates teachers' day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 6: Teachers' Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and festivity in Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu by staff and students. The function was presided over by the Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra. Beginning on the auspicious note, the traditional lamp of knowledge was lighted and floral tributes were offered to the great visionary Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan by Principal, Management and staff members. To mark the occasion, an array of scintillating performances was presented by school students to express their love and gratitude to their teachers. The cultural bonanza commenced with enthralling dance performance by the students of primary wing. This was followed by series of traditional and contemporary dance performances by the students of middle and senior wings. All the dances performances were choreographed by Sheetal Chalotra, the school dance teacher. Akarshit of class XI-F presented soul stirring Indo-Western infusion on the Sitar which won huge applause. Students of primary and middle wing displayed Band with heart touching music. M.U Harshita of class IX recited a beautiful poem. The icing on cake was Rajasthani Folk Dance by the students of the middle and senior wings. Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra felicitated the meritorious students and teachers for their outstanding contribution towards education. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta wished the teachers and urged them to lead a healthy and disciplined life and create a healthy environment. Deputy Headmaster, Ravi Kotroo also spoke on the occasion. The whole programme was compered by Ridha, Pratyaksh and Akshit Rana, students of class XII. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem. |
