AIJMS president conducts visit of Vijaypur | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Sept 9: Chudhary Manmohan Singh President AIJMS J&K and his team visited Thalori village of Vijaypur. During this tour, he held a meeting there which was attended by the village residents, including women and youth of the area. Chudhary Manmohan Singh said he and his team are visiting places where Jats reside, or even a single Jat family resides, and trying to connect all the Jats of J&K with each other. "We people will be strong and in our strength lies the courage to face and deal with our issues. For this all of us should maintain communication with other members of our biradari, " he stated, adding that the people present there asked him to formalize their committees, which they will form on his behalf. "Our people still are struggling to get ownership rights for the lands we were given in lieu of loosing our lands in War. Jats in 11 states fall under the OBC category but this benefit does not includes Jats living in J&K. Our people have to suffer on border, loose on education and agriculture to cross border firing. For jobs, we still have not gone more than Belt Forces. Our kids should get their chance for education, " he added. He said that he will use this platform to request Governor Satyapal Malik to bring us at par with our fellow biradari members of other states and grant us the category benefit. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his addressal in Srinagar promised that they will receive the amount of one time settlement. Now the biradari is waiting for him to fulfill his promise and also, as has been decided by our people, the financial package under 30 Lakhs wont be acceptable. |
