MENDHAR, Sept 10: Muharram was observed in Gursai and Mendhar area in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district. Thousands of mourners today joined the Ashura processions in Gursai Mendhar in Poonch District on the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, today. Mourners, mostly in black dress, joined the Ashura processions in the Shia area on the tenth day of Muharram month of Islamic calendar.
Beating their chests and reciting 'Marcia', the mourners were heading towards Imambara. Adequate security arrangements had been put in place by Poonch police by deploying police personnel. Besides, paramedical staff was also deployed.
