JKCA announces 16 member squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 23: After two weeks of training and practice matches in Baroda, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has announced 16-membere squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare One-Day format tournament. The Jammu and Kashmir cricket team will play their first match against Tripura at Jaipur on September 24. The team is mix of experienced senior players and juniors players led by the International cricketer Parveez Rasool. There were around 26 cricketers who were practicing at Baroda. The players could not practice at Jammu and Kashmir due to the clampdown in the valley. Keeping the vigil on the situation, players rushed to Baroda and went under training and played some practice matches. Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) had shut all their activities and sent all its outstation players including coaching staff back to their respective home town. The activities were shut in the middle of the ongoing practice matches at Sheri-Kashmir Cricket stadium Srinagar last month. The players were asked to leave for their native places while as coaching staff including former Team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan for their respective States. Last month, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) had put out an advertisement on local television channels, to reach out to the players from Srinagar and the other districts. |
