Doon International School organizes Poem Recitation Competition

Jammu, Oct 16: Doon International School, Jammu organized an Inter School Poem Recitation Competition under the aegis of Sahodaya School Complex Jammu.
The topic for the Sub Junior level was 'Mere Sapne Mere Apne' where as at the Junior level the participants recited poems on the topic 'My Freedom-Real or Virtual'. 29 reputed Sahodaya schools of Jammu region participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Sanjeev Verma Divisional Commissioner Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Nirmal Mahana President JSSC & Principal DPS Rajbagh Kathua and Mr S.K.Singh an eminent educationist and CBSE resource person were the special guests. The competition was judged by eminent Hindi writer M.K.Santoshi and Dr Shivani Suri, Assistant Professor GCW Parade.
In the sub-junior category, Sehaj Seerat Kour of Jodhamal Public School bagged the 1st prize followed by Navya Arora of Doon International School who bagged the 2nd prize.Agriya Sharma of Presentation Convent School won the 3rd prize. The consolation prize was shared by Prikshit Charak of Doon International School, Heer Kaul of APS Akhnoor and Krishna Kapoor of G.D. Goenka School.
In the junior category Hargun Anand of Jammu Sanskriti School,Jammu bagged the 1st prize followed by Vinayak Vaid of Doon International School who bagged the 2nd prize. The 3rd prize was won by Aditya of Jammu Sanskriti Kathua.The consolation prize was shared by Shreya of DPS Kathua,Pranya of Jodhamal Public School and Kyra of Presentation Convent School.
The programme was compared by Ms Rachana Khanna (Chief Coordinator) and Ms Neharika Sharma. The Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr Vikesh Kaur(Principal, Doon International School Jammu) who while addressing the gathering appreciated the efforts of the participants and the teachers who worked hard to prepare them for displaying an amazing projection of competence and expression.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu expressed his immense surprise over the meticulous and diligent performance of the children. Mrs Nirmal Mahana President JSSC congratulated the participants and was excited to see the level of confidence of the students representing Jammu region.
The smooth conduct of the entire event was made possible by the valuable contribution and indefatigable endeavour of the staff of Doon International School, Jammu.
