Srinagar, Oct 18: Security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) after firing by militants in south Kashmir district of Shopian, official sources said here on Friday.
They said the militants fired upon security forces at village Chakoora in Shopian on Thursday night. Security forces retaliated, but the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Additional security forces were immediately rushed from nearby camps and the entire area was sealed. The CASO was launched, but no contact was established with the militants, who managed to escape. |
