| Jammu- Kathua route bus drivers, conductors stage protest against toll plaza | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 18: In protest against the establishment of toll plaza at Sarore near Vijaypur, the drivers and conductors of Jammu-Samba-Kathua route buses staged a strong demonstration here today at bus stand.
The protesters under the banner of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) shouted slogans against Union Minister of state in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh and also burnt his effigy.
While talking to media persons, the protestors said we demands the closure of the toll plaza at Thandi Khui Sarore in Samba district. They said when UPA government was ruling at center and it intended to install the toll plaza then the state BJP leadership opposed the Toll plaza in Samba and Kathua districts but now they are on silent mode and no protest or resentment is being expressed by its leadership which clearly shows duplicity of the BJP adding that they cheated the people of Jammu a lot. Meanwhile, the Bus drivers and conductors of the Jammu-Samba-Kathua route said that they are suffering heavy losses due to the strike. |
