JKNPP alleges BJP of using money, muscle power to influence BDC elections
10/22/2019 9:57:43 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 22: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has alleged that BJP has been using money and muscle power to influence BDC elections.
Addressing media persons, Capt. Anil Gour, State Secretary, JKNPP wherein he drew the attention of the Election Commission towards the blatant violation of all norms by the BJP in the conduct of election of Chairman BDC and thus prevent the Panch's & Sarpanch's to elect their Chairman in a free & fair manner.
He highlighted the fact that BJP is using its muscle & money power to ensure that its official candidates win even whilst they have expelled their rebel candidates who are standing as Independents. BJP workers are transporting huge cash & spending tons of money to win over the vote of the Panch & Sarpanch's in the areas of Reasi, Ramnagar, Chenani & complete Dist. Undhampur, Reasi & Dist. Samba.
These actions of BJP have resulted in great resentment amongst the elected Panch & Sarpanch's who see it as an act of subverting the democratic process of electing the BDC Chairman in a free & fair manner. These acts have also been brought to the notice of the concerned authorities in these areas but it seems that a blind eye is shown to these violations & no one wants to take any cognisance of this matter because the BJP is the ruling party in the center.
Capt Anil Gour asked whether this is the "NAYA J&K" that is being given to the people by PM Modi, after the Abrogation of 370 & 35A. Even the previous Govts have been rigging elections here in J&K and now BJP is also following suit following their footsteps. It is quite unfortunate that they have not learnt any lessons from the mistakes of the previous Govts. in rigging elections & are committing the same mistake which will in turn lead to unrest & dissatisfaction amongst the Panch & Sarpanch's but also the common man in Jammu region.
It is quite unfortunate that earlier too the BJP Leaders were caught on CCTV Cameras distributing envelopes of Cash to some of the Journalists of Leh under the supervision of its senior leaders including State President & MLC very brazenly & now there is an open distribution of cash to the Voter Panch's & Sarpanch's for election of the Chairman BDC.
Choudhary Surinder Chouhan Distt President Rural; Sh. Pratap Singh Jamwal Vice President Young Panther; Sh. Anil Rakwal Provincial General Secretary Young Panther; alongwith others also participated in the Press conference.
