Kathua, Oct 22: As a part of ongoing Nationwide Campaign on 'Plastic Mukt Bharat' under Swachhta Hi Seva, Shramdaan (Cleanliness drive) was organized at Ward No.-6 Bus Stand Basohli, Kathua by Field Outreach Bureau, Kathua of Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India, J&K Region. In the function Tilak Raj, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Basohli, Shammi Sapolia, Chairman Municipal Committee (M.C), Basohli, P.R.Sangra, E.O., M.C., Bhushan Shastri, Lect. Sanskrit, GHSS, Basohli, Darshan Lal Councillar W.No. 13, R.P.Bali Councillor. W.No.5, Surinder Singh Jamwal, Councillor, W.No. 2 were prominent among others who were present. The main aim of organizing the Shramdaan activity was to involve common masses in the mission of Plastic Free India (Plastic Mukt Bharat) by inculcating a sense of responsibility in each and every citizen towards cleanliness of surroundings and against Single Use Plastic. In his address Tilak Raj. ADC Basohli urged the audience that cleaning of the surroundings is not the responsibility of one department or one person. Everyone needs to make up his or her mind that they have to bring a change in society towards cleanliness and the change should begin from me. He also said that many cities face floods during monsoon which is caused due chocked drains and sewage for which plastic waste the main factor responsible. |
