KATHUA, Oct 22 : The District Information Centre today organized a multilingual Mushaira and Cultural programme at Rajiv College of Education, Kathua. Former Manager JK Bank, Devinder Singh Jasrotia, was the chief guest while staff and students were present on the occasion. Various poets presented their creations in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Dogri languages on various social evils like drug addiction, female feticide, women empowerment, gender disparity, illiteracy and dowry system. Prominent among the poets who recited their writings included Vijay Sharma, Sunil Dutt Shad, Sanjay Sehgal, Saroj Bala, Khajoor Singh, Dr Guruparshad and others. A scintillating cultural programme comprising Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi songs was also presented on the occasion. Jasrotia, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the poets and artists for throwing light on various subjects of social importance through ghazals and their literary creations. Chairperson, Rajiv Gandhi college of Education, Anu Dogra expressed gratitude to the Information Department for organizing such type of informative programmes. |
