JAMMU, Jan 18: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor from Ward No. 3, Mast Garh Narottam Sharma called on Lieutenant Governor(LG) of J&K UT, Girish Chandra Murmu and apprised him of various issues concerning the general masses at JMC Town Hall, Jammu. Narottam Sharma, apprised the LG about the faulty drinking water supply and said that water being supplied is not fit for human consumption and is giving foul smell. He alleged that it is the criminal negligence on the part of PHE in the old city area, that after 72 years of independence we have failed to provide clear drinking water to our citizens and are forcing them to drink water which is not fit for the consumption of animals. Sharma, pointed out the issue of lack of parking space, as a result of which, the people of old city have no option, but to park their vehicles on road, in consequence of which the city roads often remain jammed, the traffic has to move on snail’s pace and accidents take place. He told that Mahant Ravi Nath ji of Peer Kho agreed to provide ten kanals of land for the construction of parking. |
