Congress leader expresses concern over slow pace of work at Gangyal hospital | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 18: Senior Congress leader and former chairman of the Health Committee of Jammu Municipal Corporation Satish Sharma visited Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Ward 56 Gangyal on Saturday. And during this, he also expressed dissatisfaction at the slow pace of the construction work of the hospital's new building. Satish Sharma said that the work of the new building of this hospital started in 2014 and was started by the then Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and then Housing Minister Raman Bhalla. It was then told that this hospital would be built of 100 beds and it would cost 70 crores but after that the governments from the state and the center changed and its work in the PDP BJP government started doing the trick and during this time something happened and the hospital is now being built of 50 beds instead of 100 beds. Satish said that today it has been more than 5 years since its work was going on and till now the department has not been able to complete its building work. Satish has demanded from the Lieutenant Governor that the building of this hospital should be completed soon and secondly, there is a shortage of doctors in this hospital, due to which patients are suffering. He said that because of the way children are dying due to some unknown disease, some cases of them have also come up in RS Pura, so the Health Department should have a child specialist in this hospital and a specialist for women immediately send because this hospital had many people from Gangyal, Bavaliyana, Industrial Area Gangyal Bandhurakh, Dasamsheem Nagar, etc. |
