Day temp improves as sun plays hide, seek in Kashmir | | | Early Times report Srinagar, Jan 23: There was some relief from chilly weather conditions as sun played hide and seek in the afternoon though icy cold winds continued in Kashmir valley, where world famous ski resort of Gulmarg and tourist resort of Pahalgam shivered at minus 11.2 degree and minus 12.2 degree, respectively. Border town of Drass was the coldest place in the region at minus 24.7 degree, followed by Leh, where the mercury settled at minus 18 degree. A Met department spokesperson told that weather will remain dry during the next 24 hours in Kashmir valley, which would result in dip in the night temperature though mercury during the day would witness some improvement. He said the system will grow stronger on January 27 and would lead to moderate to heavy snowfall for the subsequent 48 hours. |
