JAMMU, Jan 28: General Manager District Industries Centre, Jammu, Subah Mehta today organised an awareness camp at Village Chak Chimna, Block Bishnah to make the unemployed youth aware about Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme and various industrial schemes being implemented by the department of Industries and Commerce, Jammu for the promotion of industry in district Jammu. The awareness camp was organized under the guidance of Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Annoo Malhotra. Shorab Gupta, Industrial Promotion Officer, Param Chadgal, Block Investigator, Abhay Gupta, Block Investigator, Vijay Singh, Sarpanch Village Chak Chimna, Bishnah were also present on this occasion. During the camp, prospective young entrepreneurs were informed about the PMEGP under which the maximum cost of the project/unit admissible in manufacturing sector is Rs. 25 lakhs and in the service sector, it is Rs.10 lakhs. The general category male candidates are eligible for 15% subsidy in urban area and for 25% subsidy in rural area. Special category candidates (including SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minorities/Women, Ex-servicemen, Physically handicapped, Hill and Border areas, etc.) are eligible for 25% subsidy in urban areas and 35% subsidy in rural areas. The youth were also informed about various industrial incentives available to them under the Industrial Development Scheme -2017. They were informed about the procedure for availing incentives like Capital Investment Subsidy, Central Interest Subsidy and Central insurance Subsidy under IDS-2017. Awareness about State Freight Subsidy scheme was also given in the camp. The people appreciated the efforts of Industries and Commerce Department and demanded that such awareness camps shall be organised frequently to make awareness among the masses at grass root level. |
