Banihal, Jan 29: A Special Police Officer (Traffic) was killed in a road accident on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, connecting Kashmir valley with rest of the country, official sources said on Wednesday.
They told that a truck hit on duty Traffic SPO, Parveed Ahmad Malik, at Banihal on the highway, resulting in his on the spot death.
''The driver was immediately taken into custody and the truck was seized,'' they said.
They said police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
