54.10 kanals of Govt land retrieved from encroachers

SAMBA, Feb 17: A prime land measuring 55 Kanals and 5 Marlas near Anand farms, Vijaypur, adjoining National Highway 44, was today retrieved from clutches of land mafias after a two hour anti-encroachment drive in which a 3 BHK house, servant quarters, boundary walls were razed.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner, Samba Rohit Khajuria along with Senior Superintended of Police, Shakti Pathak present on the site, oversaw the complete retrieval and dismantling process as 04 JCB machines were pressed into the anti encroachment drive. It was informed that the land situated in village Pekhri, tehsil vijaypur, bearing khasra no. 250, 252, 256 and 257 measuring 11 kanal, 10marla, 05 kanal, 16 kanal and 22kanal respectively was illegally occupied by some land mafia's and when the same report came to Deputy Commissioner office, DC samba immediately ordered its retrieval after verification. During the anti encroachment drive sub Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur C P kotwal, Tehsildar incharge vijaypur, Avtar jasrotia, SDPO vijaypur, Love Karan, besides other officers from district administration, revenue and police were also present.
