| Awareness programme on drugs abuse organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 23: An NGO J&K Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses organized an awareness programme on drug abuse and its ill effects in Paras Mani School, Brij Nagar.
More than 100 people from community participated in the program and got benefitted from it. Main activities of the program were to identify the drug users, register them under NGOs outreach and Drop in centre program. Provided counseling to them and refer them to the need based services.
Under this program ODIC has been established in Talab Tillo area where drug users from all strata can register themselves and can get benefitted from the program. Information and counseling was one of the main activities of the camp and medical checkup by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed.
Pamphlets having massage on Ill effects of drug use, etc printed in local language is also distributed among the community and refreshment as well.
Mandal President Vijay Sharma, local leader Dinesh Sharma and Principal of the School Veena Kumari were the chief guest of the occasion.
