SMVDU organizes National Congress on Matra Bhasha Diwas

KATRA, Feb 24: The School of Languages & Literature (SoL&L), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, organized a one day national congress on international mother language day. Literary and creative writers of Dogri, Sarazi, Bhadarwahi, Kashmiri, Hindi, Sanskrit, and others presented their works. At the onset, Dr. Virendra Bangroo, Regional Director, IGNCA, welcomed all the esteemed guests, and Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi. Coordinator of the event, informed the audience about the theme of the event. Further, Dr. Dwivedi said that the whole process of recognizing and promoting diversity is a sign of unity and integrity, and this notion would be, in turn, more productive and rewarding for the nation.
Padamshri Prof. RK Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He spoke on why celebrating and respecting cultural and linguistic diversity is crucial in a multilingual country like India. He emphasized that promoting mother language is equally important, and it is a duty of every individual to use his mother tongue as much as possible.
Many eminent writers, academicians and language speakers were present during the event, including Prakash Premi, Jagdeep Dubey; Dr. Adarsh; Dr. RL Bhat; Dr. Anil K. Tewari; Dr. Saurabh; Dr. Virendra Bangroo, Dr. Dhananjay, Shri Vinod Sharma, and others.
