DDC Ramban inaugurates Mobile Soil Testing Laboratory

RAMBAN, Feb 24: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today inaugurated Mobile Soil Testing Laboratory of Horticulture department fitted with modern instruments to test soil samples across the district in next six days operation.
BDC Chairperson, Shamshad Begum, Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) VK Gupta, SMS, RR Sharma, HDO, Rohan Kumar, Soil Analyst, GS Kapoor, PRIs and large numbers of farmers present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occassion DDC said that a team of experts and scientists shall examine the nature of soil to identify the major and minor types of nutrients available in soil and accordingly educate the farmers to develop the system of farming strictly as per adaptability and potential of soil. The well designed scientific way of testing shall enable the farmers to supply exact quantity and type of nutrients to their fields, he added.
While DDC interacting with the farmers he instructed the officers and field functionaries for making possible efforts to reach out to the inaccessible areas and stressed on better synergy between Horticulture department and farmers so that Soil Health Cards are issued to the farmers well in time.
He also distributed the Soil health card among the farmers issued by the scientist of horticulture department after properly examine the soil. Earlier, CHO informed that the Soil Testing Lab would be visited all the areas on schedule dates including at district headquarter on 24th and 25th whereas at Banihal block on 26th besides 27th and 28th at Ramsoo and on last day at Batote for soil testing.
