| Physical verification of projects underway in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Feb 24: As per the directions of the Finance Department to carry out detailed and complete verification of projects being implemented under different schemes in the district by the District Statistics and Evaluation Office,The District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh has constituted a number of teams for different areas of the district.The deputed different teams consisting of Supervising Officers and Visiting Officers,while DSEO Rajouri has been nominated as Nodal officer.
The teams have been assigned the task to carry out the hundred percent physical verification of works/ Project in the district.
While speaking on the occasion the DDC said the exercise has been carried out to strengthen the institution of monitoring and evaluation right from the ground level of the official machinery for bringing transparency, accountability and efficiency in government expenditure.
One of the Supervising Officer,Farooq Ahmed said the Finance Department assigned this physical verification to make optimum utilisation of Government funds so that tangible assets can be created on the ground. He also said the physical verification reports are to be submitted to the Regional Director Economics and Statistics and Finance department on a weekly basis.He said till date the teams have inspected 45 number of projects pertaining to Education, Health,Urban Local bodies, irrigation and Flood control.The projects so inspected are being executed by RDD,PWD , Irrigation and Flood control and by the respective Municipal Council and Municipal Committees. |
