J&K RTI Foundation concerned over non-availability of consultation facilities at SDHs | Pitches for establishing quarantine centers outside hospital premises | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 6: The J&K RTI Foundation has expressed concern over the non-availability of medical consultation facilities for emergency patients at Sub-District Hospitals (SDHs) at various places in the state. In his statement Chairman of J&K RTI Foundation Engineer Irfan has said that J&K RTI foundation has been regularly monitoring the problems being faced by people during the Covid-19 Emergency. “There is no doubt that people must restrain from coming out and visiting the hospitals for minor issues, but at the same time we cannot ignore the emergency situations. Our District Coordinators are reporting that the Gynaecology patients are suffering and they are required to travel long distances for consultation at District Level Hospital,” said Engineer Irfan. He said that in this regard Block Medical Officer SDH Magam Dr. Taha and CMO Budgam have said that people have to bear this. It is very difficult for us to attend the gynaecology patients at doorstep. We cannot put the lives of gynaecology cases in danger at SDH Magam which has been converted into a quarantine center, he added. “Karar Reshi who is District Coordinator of J&K RTI Foundation for District Baramulla has recommended for using Government Degree College Magam as Quarantine Center and Riyaz Ahmad who is District Coordinator for Budgam has suggested for converting DIET Beerwah into a quarantine center till COVID-19 crisis is over,” said Engineer Irfan. He said that health administrators should not ignore the fact that it becomes very difficult to travel long distance during the emergency situations and because of blockades at different places patients are suffering. Why cannot government issue orders for quarantining suspected or probable cases outside hospital premises to avoid any kind of problem? |
