Jr. Lab technician suspended for collecting sample of suspected Covid-19 patient at home
6/4/2020 9:50:30 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

Budgam, June 4: A Junior Lab technician was suspended today in Chadoora area after he allegedly collected samples of a suspected COVID-19 person at his home in Durbugh village, who later tested positive.
As per the reports, there was a row after a tea-Stall owner in Durbugh village of Chadoora town of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district had claimed that without taking his samples, he was declared positive and put under isolation ward at JVC SKIMS Bemina.
However, his claim was refuted by a Junior Lab Technician, who claimed that samples of suspected person were taken at his home. However, taking samples of suspected patient at home is against the norm. Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan in his order stated that there is no protocol for home sampling. “It has come to my notice that you have made home sampling of one suspected at home which is totally against the norms of Covid-19 protocol and as such you are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect, You are hereby attached in my office till further orders,” the letter issued by CMO Budgam reads. Meanwhile, the tea-stall owner is claiming that he is not a Covid-19 patient as his samples were not taken. He appealed authorities to take his samples again. However, the officials said that patients sample were taken, which turned out to be positive.
