Rishi Kapoor’s family got permission to attend last rites, poor Chattisgarh couple has ‘no rights’
Different lockdown yardsticks
6/12/2020 12:37:14 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 11: In the prevailing situation due to Covid-19, poor people are the worst victims while influential and approachable elites are enjoying all luxuries by violating lockdown restrictions.
A helpless couple from Chattisgarh, stranded at Jammu, is moving from one place to another to get permission to go to their native place to attend 10th of their beloved daughter who was killed in a road accident last week. As of now, the poor couple is denied permission to go to their native place to attend ritual of their deceased daughter.
But the same yardstick was not adopted in case of influential and approachable people. Recently after the unfortunate demise of Rishi Kapoor, his daughter and other family members were allowed to move from Delhi to Mumbai to attend his last rites but the same yardstick is not adopted in case of common people.
A couple from Chattisgarh has been approaching authorities for the last five days to get permission to move to their native village to attend some rituals of their daughter who was killed in a road accident. This poor couple has been denied permission so far.
Chattisgarh couple's is not an isolated case, earlier a cancer patient was not allowed to go to their native place at UP before death. It was only after his death, his colleagues were allowed to take his body to UP for cremation.
