Now charsi Pakistan adds drugs to terror in JK
6/16/2020 12:00:31 AM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 15: While Pakistan has long been known for death and destruction in Jammu and Kashmir, in the latest it has been established by police that the enemy country is running the drug trafficking in the union territory.
Official sources in police said the revelation came to fore from Kashmir when six terrorist associates were arrested with drugs and arms both adding that the consignment was likely to reach Jammu.
It was reliably learnt that the Jammu and Kashmir Police are expecting an even bigger breakthrough in the drug smuggling linked to Pakistan.
Sources said at the tip off the police raided some places across Kashmir to nab terror supporters.
During raids apart from arms and ammunition, one KG of banned heroin worth crores of rupees in the international markets were recovered from them.
Officials said recovery included a Chinese pistol , hand grenade, cash and narcotic substance Heroine.
Sources said police raided the hideouts in joint operation with the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and the Indian Army.
The terror supporters were arrested from Budgam district, Kupwara and Shopian. “From south to north Kashmir the gang was caught from various areas with Heroin,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said the police have got to know that the contraband was smuggled into Kashmir from Pakistan and that it was part of a major consignment of heroin having reached JK.
“In the last few years heroin was being seized by police in Kashmir but it was not certain as to what was actual source of supply but now its confirmed that the drugs like arms are supplied by Pakistan,” said the police official.
The official said there were credible inputs that the drugs which manage reaching Jammu are part of the same Pakistani consignment.
“Pakistan is more interested to smuggle drugs into Jammu as the youth of this region are nationalists and thus the enemy country wants to make a sinister revenge, but we won’t let that happen,” the official said.
