Anti-China protest held, protesters block Akhnoor Road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 18: A protest demonstration was held here today to express resentment against China, after 20 army personnel including a Colonel were killed in violent clashes in Gulwan Valley of Ladakh. Locals led by social activist and a leading civil society member, Subhash Sharma assembled on Jammu-Akhnoor highway and blocked it for some time, burning tyres and Chinese products to express their anguish against barbaric act of People’s Liberation Army. The protesters accused China of violating peace agreements with Government of India. Shouting slogans against China, the protesting people demanded retaliatory action against China. Addressing media persons, Subhash Sharma said that the Indian Government should allow Army to deal with complete freedom against any Chinese aggression at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Protesters also appealed people to boycott Chinese products.
