JAMMU, June 20: Taking it as a mission of creating a healthy society, Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur organized a workshop to disseminate the message of healthy mind and healthy body for a holistic growth. On the second day of the three day Yoga workshop, GDC Vijaypur organized an Inter college online digital poster making competition to celebrate 6th International day of Yoga. The motive of the competition was to spread awareness on the relevance of Yoga. Various posters exhibiting benefits and precautions to be taken while performing different asanas, pranayama, mudras and kriyas of the Yoga were prepared by students.
Miswa Kousar of GDC Vijaypur stood first in the competition. The second spot was shared by Anchal Singh of MAM College, Jammu and Raghav Banotra of GDC Vijaypur while Pallavi Lakhnota of GDC, Reasi stood third in the competition. E-Certificates were given to the winners of the competition. Online Yoga therapy classes were also organized to discuss about various health benefits associated with Yoga which include increase in flexibility, strength and endurance benefits, muscle toning, breathing benefits, reducing stress and mind calmness, healthy heart, better immune system function and ability of body to prevent disease and innumerable other benefits.
