Infighting in Congress: Another office bearer raises banner of revolt
7/6/2020 12:44:27 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 5: The infighting among the rank and file of Congress party has refused to cool down and in a new turn of events another office bearer has raised a banner of revolt against a senior leader of the party, alleging the latter for ignoring some hard core workers and concentrating on his constituency.
According to the letter shot by a member of Pradesh Congress Committee to Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President GA Mir, it has been claimed that the complainant had been affiliated with Congress for the last over 15 years. “Was president in a Government Degree college, while district president of National Student Union of India, General secretary of JKPYC and at present member of JKPYC and worked as Assembly Election Coordinator in state as well as outside the state”, he has written in the letter, adding that he had received appreciation certificates as well as awards from the leadership.
Launching a direct attack on the senior leader the complaint has termed a senior leader of party as incompetent and without any organizational experience. “He (the senior leader) always ignored his yes men and ignored me (complainant), which is not a good sign for the party in the district. For the last over one and half year, since he was appointed on district president post, he remotely visited the district headquarters as well as other tehsils of the district”, it has been alleged, adding that the focus of the senior leader was only his constituency, from where he contested the elections, while ignoring the other areas, despite being president of the district Committee.
The immediate cause of provocation for the member was a protest demonstration organized by the party against fuel hike and in the press-release his name was not mentioned, making him feel humiliated. “He always ignored the grass root workers, which is not a good sign for the party. Even many senior leaders of INC were not happy with the working style of the leader”, it reads and levelled another serious charge against the leader for allegedly targeting the minority community member.
The member has appealed the party leadership to look into the matter and take appropriate action against the leader.
Pertinently, a few days back, another member of the party had also raised a banner of revolt against a leader for allegedly ignoring him and the letter was leaked on the social media sites, instead of waiting for the reply of leadership, which points towards some other motives of writing the letter.
Despite the intentions of the members, who leaked the letter but it is amply clear that there is something wrong among the party leaders, who have been ignoring the workers and promoting yes men.
