Kudos to Modi on taking Swipe of China
7/7/2020 12:30:40 AM
Vinod Chandrashekhar Dixit

India overwhelmingly trusts on PM Narendra Modi to handle China now a bigger enemy than Pakistan, and India thirsts for revenge against the attack on Indian soldiers in Ladakh.
China is now clearly problem number 1 for India. As per the snap poll, 68.3 per cent say China is a bigger problem for India than Pakistan, while only 31.7 per cent see Pakistan as a bigger threat. Don’t we think Modi sprang a surprise with his sudden Ladakh visit. No doubt, it was primarily meant to be a gesture of solidarity with the armed forces in order to boost the morale of soldiers guarding the borders at high altitudes. His visit to Ladakh ended up being a philosophical introspection on life rather than a strong political message to China. China has occupied Indian land in Galwan Valley and reportedly built many underground bunkers there came to light only after the face-off between the troops of the two countries. India was caught napping once, it should not happen again. His visiting borders at a time when situation is under tension, shows his concern for standing with front line warriors in time of need, be it war on pandemic Corona or war on the ground waged by China.
One thing is clear that the presence of Modi in the Ladakh region has not only sent a huge signal to China that India means business and will not surrender even an inch of its territory but also to the local population with the head of government coming down to reassure them.
Modi has rightly said that “Ladakh is the head of the country. This is the symbol of pride for the 130 crore citizens of India. This land belongs to the people who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the country... Every attempt to create separatism in the region was rejected by the nationalist people of Ladakh." Flanked by Gen Rawat and Gen Naravane, the PM has also assured the country that India is quite capable of handling China, which has created both health and security problems for the globe with corona virus from Wuhan in China.
Every Indian will remember his Golden words that “From Leh, Ladakh to Siachen and Kargil...and Galwan's icy waters...every mountain, every peak is witness to the valour of Indian soldiers. Age of expansionism is over, this is the age of development. History is witness that expansionist forces have either lost or were forced to turn back."
His words touches our heart when he says “Those who are weak can never initiate peace, bravery is a prerequisite for peace.” One agrees when he says that Indians can go about their lives peacefully because they know that the armed forces are standing firm, protecting the nation in the borders.
There is no doubt that the gestures of amity made by Modi towards the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, to build better relations between India and China did not acquiesce the desired results and our bold PM Modi has given a very strong message to China that India is very serious about this border dispute and it will neither take it lightly nor bow down to China and Modi has shown that he is confident of India's victory and when a towering & bold leader is confident of his victory, then only he takes such a big step.
