Water Works (PHE) Employees Association holds meeting, projects several demands

JAMMU, July 8: A meeting of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, City Div-I, Jammu was held under the chairmanship of Jyoti Prakash, its President, here today at Gole Puli PHE Station Jammu. The meeting took stock of the problems of PHE employees, besides new body for City Division-1 was announced.
Balbadar Raj, President Water Works (PHE) Employees Association Jammu region was the chief guest on this occasion.
The following office bearers were appointed for smooth functioning of the organization. They are Bikram Sharma, Jagat Ram and Sanjay Kumar, who were appointed as Vice Presidents while Gurmit Singh, Sarabjit Saini and Pt. Girdhari Lai were appointed as Secretaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Jyoti Prakash highlighted the demands of PHE workers including daily wagers, need base, CP Workers, land donors etc. He said that they have not been paid their salaries regularly. They are facing lot of hardships with regard to feeding their family members and providing fee for the education of their children.
He urged upon the Govt, to explore all possibilities to pay wages regularly to these employees. He also demanded regularization of all daily wagers, need base, CP workers, land donors and ITI workers besides he also sought departmental promotions be held twice in a year.
