Mehbooba exposed yet again
7/11/2020 12:18:59 AM

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti, has once again proved that she is inclined towards the Pakistan stooges and terrorists active in Kashmir. Instead of condemning the gruesome murders of a BJP leader and his family members in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district by the terrorists, she tweeted about the “endless cycle of violence in the Valley.”
The big question is why she couldn’t muster courage to tell the world that Pakistan sponsored terrorists are murderers who have been directed by their bosses sitting across the Line of Control to spill blood of innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir. Is she still trying to send a message to Pakistan and the elements supported by it that they can rely on her?
She is the only leader from the mainstream camp who continues to be serving detention under Public Safety Act at her Gupkar residence in Srinagar. All other leaders have been released. The apprehension of the administration that she could prove a threat to peace is coming true.
The cold blooded murders of BJP leader Wasim Bari, his father and brother have shaken every sane person in Jammu and Kashmir. But the indifference of former J&K chief minister has raised many questions, which she will have to answer sooner or later.
It appears that she is trying to don the mantle of separatists. At this point of time, her party stands nowhere. Her close aides and advisors have deserted her and she is standing alone. Mehbooba is making an attempt to project herself different from other mainstream politicians. It appears that she believes that by doing so she will become popular but the fact of the matter is that she has been rejected by the people and no one cares whether she remains in detention or is set free.
The predictions which nationalist people had made about Mehbooba and her party are coming true with each passing day. Her leanings towards separatists and terrorists stand exposed. She being selective about what to condemn and what not to condemn speaks volumes about her nationalist approach as a leader. Her attitude should make policy makers ponder upon the fact whether she deserves the privileges she has been getting despite being under detention? Is it worth to invest on a politician, who cannot call spade and spade and remains silent over the inhuman acts committed by the terrorists?
