79 fresh positive, 1232 active cases and 65 deaths till date in north Kashmir
Restriction on movement of public transport witnessed in all three districts

BARAMULLA, July 17: There is decline in overall Covid-19 cases in Bandipora district and there was complete lockdown and restriction on movement of public transport in this north Kashmir district, and today out of 601 positive cases, Seventy nine fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 1232 active positive cases, cumulative cases crossed over 2718, while 65 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir as on date.
According to the district wise positive cases that are available as on July 17, 2020 (Friday), in Baramulla district, 62 fresh positive cases including 1 traveler and 61 others that were reported today, there has been an increase in the cumulative cases that have gone up to 1464, while as yesterday there were just 1399 and active positive cases stands at 834 and yesterday it was 774, and cumulative recovered cases are 582, while as 48 deaths, next highest after Srinagar that have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 12 fresh positive cases including 1 traveler and 11 others were reported today, while there is also an increase in cumulative cases that have gone up to 831 cases, active positive cases that stands at 292 and yesterday there were 282, cumulative recovered are 526 and 13 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, there is a decline in overall Covid-19 cases, as 1 fresh positive cases were reported today, whereas 423 are cumulative cases, 106 are active positive, 423 are cumulative recovered and 4 deaths have occurred so far including today.
As far as Baramulla district of north Kashmir is concerned, the district magistrate has not left any stone unturned in containing the spread of virus.
In view of a spike in positive cases from past few days, DC reimposed some restrictions for three days with an immediate effect vide his order no: DMB/PS/13327-32, Dated 16/07/2020.
There was complete lockdown and restrictions on movement of public transport including Sumo, Tavera, Auto Rickshaws, in all tehsil headquarters, only authorized vehicles were allowed within the district.
Meanwhile, reports have been received from other two districts of north Kashmir including Kupwara and Bandipora, lockdown was also observed there, complete restriction on movement of public transport was observed.
However, the police and civil administration in all the three districts has made all efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19, they have sought help from the local committees, people have been asked to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in letter and spirit.
