Early Times Report

Jammu, July 19: Vishal Khatri Sabha on Saturday hailed LG Girish Chander Murmu for taking bold and pro-people decisions in Union Territory of J&K. In a statement issued here on Saturday, Devinder Seth, President of the Sabha said that the Sabha will extend its support to all positive decisions of J&K Government. Seth thanked Lt. Governor for sanctioning the reservation for residents living within 6 kms of border area.
He said that this reservation won't be of any use to them unless border children are encouraged to study and go for jobs. The responsibility falls on their parents to focus on their education and make it their priority. Hailing the government's decision, Seth said, "Every time firing is done from the other side of the border, they are forced to leave their place. Their children's studies are affected badly due to this, their crops get damaged and their business comes to a halt. Government does provide them help but still they have to suffer a lot. We thank the central government for helping them out. Reservation in jobs will help them a lot as it is difficult for children here to compete with those living in other cities, added Seth. Seth further said, this decision should have been taken long time back, but still they are happy that finally somebody has thought about them. It's a good decision taken by the government. We thank the government for this. We hope that the government will think more about the people staying in such tough conditions. He said, "we further request the government to provide them more bunkers. Also, the government should provide them financial assistance for the loss of property during firing from the Pakistan side.
