Jammu, Aug 8: To curb the menace of illicit liquor distillation and illegal smuggling of liquor from neighbouring states and to tighten noose on illicit liquor during the weekend lockdown Excise sleuths on the directions of Worthy Excise Commissioner, J&K, Rajesh Kumar Shavan and under supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner( Executive) Jammu, S. Amarjeet Singh, KAS, today conducted series of raids in Laswara, Jouian, Salehar and Dablehar in the early morning of Saturday. Around 25 bottles of illicit liquor was siezed and destroyed on spot. Besides, three persons were booked under section 48 of the Excise Act.
The excise team was led by ETO Excise Range, Jammu South Rafie Naik, comprising Excise inspectors Ashwani Sharma, Vikram singh, mukul sharma and Gagandeep singh besides others. |
