Kishtwar, Aug 17: Kishtwar District in Jammu province today witnessed strict restrictions following the shutdown call given by the Majles-e-Shoura, Kishtwar, over the blasphemous act in Reasi.
As per the details available with Early Times, following the calls given by the various organizations to condemn the incident, District Administration in Kishtwar as a precautionary measure had imposed restrictions to thwart any attempt of nefarious elements to destabilize peace and tranquility in the district and to prevent any untoward incident. All the entry and exit points leading to Kishtwar town and its outskirts areas were sealed with barbed wires, however in the evening the restrictions were eased out. Senior citizens, political and social activist from both the communities along with officials in District administration while condemning the incident appealed the people to maintain peace, communal harmony and brotherhood. Senior police officials told the Early Times that since the accused has been arrested following immediate intervention of IGP Jammu, the law will take its own course and guilty will be punished. The officials urged the people not to fall prey to hate messages and not to upload anything sensitive on social media. They warned that strict possible action will be initiated against those who were found involved in uploading volatile content on the social media. Meanwhile, Doda and Bhaderwah towns also witnessed partial shutdown while some areas in Ramban District also wore deserted look. At few places in erstwhile Doda District, some people also held peaceful protests to condemn the blasphemous act.
