KISHTWAR, Aug 20: Congress activists staged a strong protest in Padyarna, Nagseni against the private companies for denying the job opportunities to the local youth of Kishtwar district.
Protesters led by Congress leader Er Raj Kumar Badyal raised slogans against the management of different private companies operating in Kishtwar for executing works on various Hydroelectric Projects.
Addressing the protesting workers, Er Badyal lashed out at the managements of these companies for not providing jobs to the local unemployed youth.
He also criticized the practice of contractual system which according to him is purely harassment and violation of the minimum wage act.
He advocated providing jobs under companies directly and not under “Thekedar Khata.”
Later, Er Badyal along with other Congressmen and Block Congress Committee, Nagseni submitted a memorandum of demands to Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar through Tehsildar, Nagseni.
