DC Rajouri assess damage caused to infra, livestock, crops in recent rains

RAJOURI, Aug 26: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today convened a meeting with the concerned officers of different departments to assess the damage caused to the roads, water and power supply schemes, livestock and crops during the recent rains in this border district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh; Chief Planning Officer, Shama Un Ahmed; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf; Chief Agriculture Officer, Vijay Bhagat; Chief Horticulture Officer, Madan Lal; District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhary; Executive Engineer, PWD Rajouri, Mohd Zubair; Executive Engineer PWD Nowshera, Prem Kapoor; Executive Engineer PHE Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; Executive Engineer PHE Nowshera, Gurcharan Singh; Executive Engineer I&FC Rajouri, Sageer Malik; Executive Engineer I&FC Nowshera, Hari Bushan; Executive Engineer PMGSY Rajouri, Subash Chander; Executive Engineer PMGSY Nowshera, Abdul Gani; Executive Engineer PDD, Rajouri, Munshi Khan; Assistant Director FCS&CA, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone and Assistant Regional Transport Officer,Inzar Ahmed Rana.
It was informed that district and tehsil level control rooms have been activated to keep round the clock tab on any emergency situation arising due to the rains. The DC asked the departments to set up own control room at their respective headquarters and submit report about the damages on daily basis to facilitate prompt corrective action to mitigate the sufferings of the common masses.
He also directed them to keep their men and machinery in a state of readiness to meet any crisis due to inclement weather conditions. He stressed on taking all possible measures to ensure the convenience of the general public.
The Deputy Commissioner called for maintaining close coordination among the departments and agencies to safeguard life and property in case of any eventuality. He further instructed them to remain stationed at their respective headquarters to redress the problems being faced by the public.
