Omar “enjoying” Cong infighting on social media
8/28/2020 1:05:21 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 27: Former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is ‘enjoying’ ongoing turmoil within Congress at national level. Omar Abdullah has re-tweeted tweet of Congress stalwart Kapil Sibal who has expressed his anguish over targeting Jitin Prasada for signing the ‘controversial’ letter. “Unfortunate that Jitin Prasada is being officially targeted in UP. Congress needs to target the BJP with surgical strikes instead of wasting its energy by targeting its own,” Kapil Sibal, tweeted. Sibal has been tweeting for three days speaking indirectly of why that controversial letter needed to be written.
Instead of commenting on the tweet of Kapil Sibal, Omar Abdullah has only re-tweeted it from his own twitter handle which is an indication that former chief minister of J&K is keenly watching on-going infighting within the Congress.
Earlier Omar Abdullah has retweeted tweets of Kapil Sibal in which he (Sibal) has given reason for withdrawing in earlier tweets.
“Was informed by Rahul Gandhi personally that he never said what was attributed to him. I therefore withdraw my tweet”, Sibal had tweeted which was retweeted by Omar Abdullah.
Infighting in the Congress is likely to be intensified in the days to come because Kapil Sibal is annoyed over the way his younger colleague Jitin Prasada was being officially targeted in Uttar Pradesh.
Sibal and Prasada are both signatories to the controversial letter 23 party leaders wrote to Congress president Sonia Gandhi recently asking for a full time and active chief and also for overhaul of party structure to make it battle ready for the next elections.
