EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Sept 3: An allegedly tainted doctor, who was placed under suspension on serious charges, has been lobbying hard to get “rehabilitated at influential post.”
The doctor, who is presently attached in Jammu, has been spending time in Kashmir doing the rounds of corridors of power and some senior politicians seeking his elevation.
Sources said the doctor has been visiting the government offices quite often to get his rehabilitation done as he has brought “influence from top quarters.”
It is pertinent to mention that the said doctor, who is in reality to be posted at a dispensary in north Kashmir has been enjoying influential postings given his influence in the corridors.
Otherwise, the officials said, the said doctor is infamous for his dubious service record.
Earlier this year, he was placed under suspension after Government received “serious complaints” against him.
Prior to that he was attached during the Peoples Democratic Party-Bharatiya Janta Party regime following “serious complaints” received by the then Chief Minister.
As per sources that time he had allegedly misused his position “for various reasons”.
Prior to that, the said doctor, was placed under suspension when he had transferred government money into his personal account.
Sources said he was also under the radar of the J&K Anti Corruption Bureau for having amassed property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Sources said a lobby of influential persons was trying to convince the Raj Bhawan to reinstate the said doctor at any lucrative posting.
Meanwhile, a delegation of officials appealed the Raj Bhawan to look into the antecedents of the said person before giving him a new posting.
“Elevating a tainted official will be injustice with us as many of the KAS officers have been sidelined,” said the delegation of KAS officials on the condition of anonymity.
Despite repeated attempts the said doctor was not available for comments.
